Alejandro´s main concern has always been to listen to what every vineyard, every vine has to say. Since his beginnings in Catena Zapata he knew that the secret to a great wine lied in the soil, right beneath his feet. It is not surprising that all these years of hard work and investigation have made him become one of the 10 Top winemakers of South America, according to Decanter Magazine.
In harvest time you can notice how his hands get really dirty and inky since he puts his hands literally on the clusters, assessing ripeness levels to determine the perfect date. Nothing is given for granted. Every detail is monitored by him; in each and every step of the process. That is his biggest virtue, a balanced mixture of vision, knowledge, hard work and sensitivity. That is Alejandro Sejanovich´s signature.
Estate
We have a high planting system structure of 7000 plants/ha to obtain low yields of great quality out of a young vineyard. The different lots are identified in terms of their soil composition. All of them go through micro-vinification. Our vine training system is VSP (Vertical Shoot Positioning). The vineyard is facing northwest.

Wines
Zaha is part of Bodega Teho , the stepping stone for both Jeff Mausbach and Alejandro Sejanovich. . Toko Vineyard, in Paraje Altamira, nests Zaha, (heart in the native language of the Huarpes). All the wines are the result of a big jigsaw of “micro-vinifications” that interprets the subtle differences in each soil profile namely: sand, clay, limestone, stone.
It´s been 15 years since Finca La Escuela vineyard has been planted, in Paraje Altamira. The day that Alejandro Sejanovich was determined to buy the land he gladly discovers that the rural school of the district was inside that property.
